Disc Couplings
SAMT can supply Disc Couplings to meet your requiremets; The Zero-Max CD coupling is a unique hybrid coupling, combining the best features found in both steel and elastomeric couplings. Through its new open arm disc design and use of rugged composite materials, the coupling offers the high misalignment capacity found in many elastomeric couplings, but with higher torsional stiffness. Compared to steel disc couplings, these couplings offer superior damping and isolation shock and vibrational loads, including elimination of fretting corrosion. Double Flex & Spacer couplings are also available. Hubs also available in aluminium and stainless steel on request.
Lubricating oil is unnecessary because SAMT disc couplings have no sliding, frictional, or moving parts. Therefore, there is no friction or noise, and energy loss is low, with no dirty oil to cope with.
For equipment such as machine tools with numerical controllers, indexing system, and printing machines requiring accurate shaft rotation and phase control, SAMT disc couplings are best suited because of their high torsional stiffness.
When properly installed and if initial conditions remain unchanged, SAMT disc coupling have an
unlimited service life. Required maintenance consists of visual inspection or the condition of the element (flexible plate) and of the bolts and nuts when operation is stopped. Should the element be damaged due to overload or accident, a fall-safe mechanism transmitting rotation via washers becomes operational.
